Apple Sauce (The American Home Kitchens)
Ingredients
- 5 large cooking apples
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Quarter apples, peal, and remove cores and stems; place in deep saucepan with water and brown sugar.
- Cover and cook for [cooked-timer minutes="25"]25 minutes[/cooked-timer] or until apples are soft enough to mash.
- When cool, lightly stir in sour cream. Or add raisins and chopped nuts, or a little horseradish.
