Apple Sauce (The American Home Kitchens)

Ingredients
  

  • 5 large cooking apples
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions
 

  • Quarter apples, peal, and remove cores and stems; place in deep saucepan with water and brown sugar.
  • Cover and cook for [cooked-timer minutes="25"]25 minutes[/cooked-timer] or until apples are soft enough to mash.
  • When cool, lightly stir in sour cream. Or add raisins and chopped nuts, or a little horseradish.
